MoCU arranged the International Conference on Co-operatives and Industrialisation

Together with the Tanzania Co-operative Development Commission the SUSIE partner MoCU organized an International Conference on” Co-operatives and industrialisation: Putting Members at the centre” in Moshi, Tanzania in 2021. The conference was held at Julius Kambarage Nyerere Hall at the University, from 1st to 3rd September. The SUSIE Project supported the conference by sponsoring one day lunch for all participants. Likewise, SUSIE team members played various roles during this conference, from session chairs to paper presenters. Apart from presenting papers, Dr. Ritva Hyttinen, Dr. Getrude Ntulo and Dr. Julius Tweve were also among the session chairs. Prof. Katundu Mangasini and Dr. Emmanuel Querrec co-authored and presented a paper on ‘Co-operatives as a Sustainable Mean to Support University Education and Impact Labour Market: Experience from Tanzania and Finland’. Dr. Ritva Hyttinen and  Dr. Getrude Ntulo presented a paper on, “Innovation Pedagogy Linking Universities and Working Life – Fintan Invites Co-Operatives to Learning Communities” while Dr. Julius Tweve authored and presented a paper on the need for ethical consideration in innovation practices in co-operatives. Another paper from the SUSIE team was presented by Dr. Gideon Ntuga. It was on co-operatives and ICT integration in Tanzania: opportunities and challenges. The SUSIE project was also presented at the conference with a banner which showeded SUSIE activities and milestones achieved.
