SUSIE - Sustainable Employability through HEI's Innovative Pedagogy

11.11.2020

The SUSIE project has started with the planning of a Kick-off meeting. The kick-off meeting will be held online in November-December 2020. TUAS team is looking forward to meeting old and new Tanzanian colleagues! TUAS Team has also grown with a new team member Emmanuel Querrec. Emmanuel is a lecturer and an expert in business and innovation. Welcome to the team Emmanuel!

The first objectives of the SUSIE project are to get acquainted with the project team members and to build a common understanding of the project goals and working methods. The ultimate goal of the SUSIE project is to expand the results of IRIS in building HEIs capacity in Tanzania, increasing accessibility to studies and information, promoting innovation capabilities and creating concrete job opportunities for sustainable employment.

SUSIE aims at the improved capacity of management and teaching staff, which enables partner HEIs to offer strategically relevant, sustainable and accessible higher education for students and coach and network them to meet the requirements of the future in a sustainable society, business and working life. The main elements in the project that create maximum impact and make the project goals reachable are strategic thinking which addresses HEI’s management, teaching staff pedagogical skills in active pedagogy (FINTAN-model, read more https://susie.turkuamk.fi/about-susie/) and students competence via working life cooperation and accessible e-courses.

The aim of the kick-off meeting is to make concrete roadmap which leads to these goals. SUSIE has been planned in tight cooperation with all partners, in an open and equal manner. This way of working will continue throughout the project. SUSIE team can’t wait to get started!
